OIL FILTER

The oil filter is used to trap dirt and metallic particles that accumulate in the engine oil. These abrasive contaminants would cause accelerated part wear if permitted to circulate throughout the engine. The filter does not trap liquid contaminants like acid, unburned fuel, or water.
